Fight SOPA/PIPA

So I'm sure that you've seen it everywhere lately, popular websites like google and craiglist have things about them on their home pages. So what is it?

SOPA is basically a kill switch put into the hands of content creators (like music artists, recording studios, movie production companys, etc...). When one of those people, even so much as suspect, that the site contains some of their content, as piracy, they can block your DNS server.

What is DNS?
Domain Name Service. Its what you access when you type a URL, such a google.com. That URL goes to the DNS servers, and they tell your browser what IP address to access, to receive the information to construct the site. It makes it convenient, without DNS, we would be typing out long IP addresses
(such as: http://74.125.157.104/ which is google's ip) to go to a site.

What does this mean for me?
So, for instance, you want to visit this blog: beta3blog.blogspot.com. You would type this into the browser and find that, for some reason, its been blocked. That means that some other company has blocked my DNS, because for some reason, I've put pirated content on my site. All the company needs is suspicion, if they think you don't own that content, they can block you.

So how do I get around it?
Since this only blocks a sites DNS name, you can simply go to the site, by typing the IP address.  For google its: 74.125.65.132. To find out the IP address of a site, go to your command promt, and type
"ping www.google.com" (without the quotes).

I don't want to do this every time I want to visit this site! What do I do to stop it?!?!
go to: http://www.craigslist.org/about/SOPA
and here, and sign google's petition: https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/

End this stupid SOPA stuff, Its just a pain, its not going to stop piracy!!!!!!
